Teaching Ideas

  • List your friends. What makes a food friend? Brainstorm and discuss
  • Write a story about your best friend, including the sorts of things you do together
  • Find a poem about friends or write your own and share with your class
  • Practise your acting skills by playing the game "Tweedledum and Tweedledee." Two children stand facing each other about 20 steps apart. One starts the game off by saying seriously. "I'm Tweedledum" and taking a step towards the other child’s. The other child says, "I'm Tweedledee" and takes a step forward too. The aim is to make the other person laugh. The first person to laugh is out and the teacher chooses another child. Before playing this game practice making your face expressionless each time you pass your hand down your face.
